SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. -- A crash involving a tractor trailer and a truck towing a boat caused traffic issues on Interstate 75 in Sarasota Thursday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened Thursday morning in the southbound lanes near Mile Marker 205 in Sarasota.

Troopers say a semi truck in the center lane began changing to the right lane as the pickup truck towing the boat was immediately to its right. The right side of the semi truck hit the left side of the pickup, causing the boat to become dislodged from its trailer.

The semi truck then overturned into the trees on the shoulder.

The driver of the semi sustained minor injury.

Charges are pending completion of the investigation.

The southbound lanes were reduced to one lane at the scene for about two hours. All lanes were reopened around 11:30 a.m.
