JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Amazon is planning to open a third warehouse in Florida.

The online retailer announced in a news release Wednesday that it will build an 800,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Jacksonville, creating 1,500 full-time jobs. Amazon wasn't immediately saying when the facility would be open.

Amazon employees at the new center will pick, pack and ship small items to customers such as books, electronics and consumer goods.

Amazon currently operates facilities in Ruskin and Lakeland.
