ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a 5-year-old girl has died after being pulled from a Florida hotel pool.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Sophia Benitz was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after going underwater at Marriott's Harbour Lake hotel.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office says the girl was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead later that night. The apparent drowning remains under investigation, but officials say it appears to be an accident.
