NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a small plane landed safely on a southwest Florida highway before eventually taking off again.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office says the pilot was experiencing mechanical issues before landing on U.S. 41 near the Collier/Miami-Dade county line on Sunday.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Karie Partington tells the Naples Daily News (http://bit.ly/1TvRlz3 ) that the pilot was a flight school student and was not injured.
The pilot was able to restart the plane and eventually took off a short time later.
No further details were immediately available.
