CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a north Cape Coral McDonald's Tuesday night.
According to Cape Coral Police, officers responded to the McDonald's located at 2541 Del Prado Blvd N. at 10:40pm on a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.
Employees told officers that 2 white males entered into the restaurant via the north doors. Both had their faces covered with some type of cloth or clothing that was held in place with a string or rope and both were armed with handguns.
The suspects ordered employees to the rear of the store and that they pointed their handguns at them and demanded money from the safe. The suspects also took money from the drive thru register. The suspects then fled the store via the north door and were last seen running northbound from the restaurant on foot with an undisclosed amount of US currency.
