NORTH PORT, Fla. -- New developments in the tragic death of a baby in North Port last September, allegedly at the hands of his parents.
The Department of Children and Families has released the complete review of Chance Walsh's case. It shows a DCF worker ignored a tip from someone right after Baby Chance was born, warning them about his mother's drug use.
DCF says that tip should have been considered.
Two months later, Chance was found buried in a shallow grave after being beaten to death.
Chance's mother, Kristen Bury, is now serving a 25-year sentence after pleading guilty to aggravated manslaughter. His father, Joseph Walsh, is awaiting trail on a first-degree murder charge.
