CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- One person is dead and another is hurt in a house fire in a rural section of Punta Gorda.
It happened in the 32100 block of Oil Well Road.
The house was fully involved when emergency crews arrived around 4 p.m. Monday.
Once the fire was out, a body was found in a bedroom.
A second person was taken to the hospital for burns to the arms and hands.
The state fire marshall and the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Units are investigating.
