GAINSEVILLE, Fla. — Fox 4 spoke with Dr. Mike Parsons, a Florida Gulf Coast University Professor, who is also on the blue-green algae task force about our water quality.
The task force held a meeting yesterday in Gainesville.
The group came up with recommendations on ways the state could improve how to monitor and reduce nutrients from going into Lake Okeechobee.
Dr. Parsons says there are several reasons why we are not experiencing a toxic algae crisis right now, as we did last year.
