PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- An injured pelican is on the mend after it was rescued from the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on Friday.
Pictures were posted by the Florida Department of Highway Safety.
Florida Highway Patrol’s Trooper Ray Ada and Corporal Nick Morris responded to a call of a pelican with injured wings on the bridge.
The bird was walking the travel lanes.
Troopers and Road Rangers secured the pelican, which is now recovering at Seaside Seabird Sanctuary.
