Red drift algae spotted in certain regions of Southwest Florida

CAPTIVA, Fla. — Florida Fish and Wildlife announced the presences of red tide in some regions of Southwest Florida.

K. Brevis was observed at background concentrations in and offshore of Sarasota County, background to very low concentrations in or offshore of Charlotte County, background to very low concentrations in or offshore of Lee County, and background concentrations offshore of Collier County
Fox 4 visited Turner Beach in Captiva and found red drift algae floating ashore.
