SANIBEL, Fla. — The City of Sanibel sent out a beach advisory warning to the public about the presence of algae on the beach.

The City says after Hurricane Dorian came through conditions on the beach were atypical.

Abnormal conditions such as floating algae, algae deposits, strong odors, and murky waters were found on the beach.

A Red Drift Algae report shows algae in the lighthouse area, Gulfside City Park, Tarpon Bay Beach Park and Bowman’s Beach Park.
