LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A new fire station in Matlacha is doing something extra to help protect paradise.
Crews have been planting native trees like sea grapes and sabal palms along with other native plants at Lee County's newest fire station.
It's located at 3500 S.W. Pine Island Road, just east of Matlacha.
