Lee Health hosting speaker series on blue green algae

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- If you want to learn more about toxic algae, Lee Health is kicking off a speaker series about the issue and possible solutions.

The series is called "Blue Green Algae! Why Is This Happening? How Can We Fix It?"

They held their first event Tuesday in Babcock Ranch.

Their next one is on Thursday. June 13, at the Healthy Life Center in Cape Coral. Dr. Serge Thomas, an aquatic ecologist professor at Florida Gulf Coast University, will be leading it. Call 239-424-3210 to reserve a spot.

And on Wednesday, July 10th, there will be another event at the Healthy Life Center in Coconut Point. Dr. Mike Parsons, a marine science professor at FGCU and Algae Task Force researcher will be leading that one. You can call 239-468-0050 to reserve a spot.
