CAPE CORAL, Fla — A cautionary health advisory has been issued for the Shaughnessey Canal in Cape Coral.
The Florida Department of Health in Lee County issued it Tuesday after observations of algae in the canal.
DOH is recommending anyone who is boating in the canal to avoid contact with the water.
