LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University wants to be a leading voice on climate change. Now, they want the City of Cape Coral to join them.
The university is creating a Climate Change Coalition.
They gave a presentation about it at Monday night's city council meeting.

Essentially, it's a way for cities and counties to work together on climate change issues.
So here's what will happen next: City council members will review the proposal and possibly meet with Lee County leaders before they make a decision.
