Florida Fish and Wildlife have shared video of an encounter with a Florida panther that was trapped on the wrong side of a highway fence, but was safely ushered back into the wilderness.
FWC Officer Rubenstein's body camera captured the encounter.
It shows an endangered Florida panther walking along the fence line along a highway. Traffic was shut down for the cat's safety as the officer approached the panther. He then had a helpful motorist use their truck to encourage the cat towards an open section of fence, where it sprinted off to safety.
FWC encourages the public to report sightings of injured or dead panthers by calling their Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922) or #FWC or *FWC on a cell phone. Text or email Tip@MyFWC.com.
