LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The sound of gunfire broke the silence in a quiet neighborhood near Lehigh Acres Tuesday.
It happened around 2:20 p.m. along State Road 82 near Rue Labeau Circle. That's in the Woodridge Preserve neighborhood.
One man tells Four in your Corner that he heard six shots and saw a man in a driveway with gunshot wounds. Witnesses say the shooting started out on State Road 82 before the man turned onto Rue Labeau Circle, asking for help with his injuries.
One man says he called 911, while checking on the injured man near his driveway. "We got pressure on his hand, because he has two big holes. We asked him how many times he got shot and he said he didn't know. So when I looked at his hand saw two big holes right there."
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the victim was a 17-year-old juvenile who was in the car with a 20-year-old female. The car had a shattered driver side window and several bullet holes along the driver side.
Investigators say the couple were "not initially forthcoming with information", and said they didn't know who the shooter was.
Neighbors add they are not concerned by the shooting, as the neighborhood is normally very quiet and kid-friendly.
