ESTERO, Fla. -- Roads are now open after a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Tamiami Trail Tuesday night.
The accident happened around 9:30 PM near the intersection with Commons Way in Estero. That is just south of Corkscrew Road.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver, 31-year-old Yuniel Garcia was northbound approaching the intersection of Commons Way when 55-year-old William Colter walked across the lane. Garcia's car hit Colter, who died at the scene from the accident.
Right now no charges are pending.
Northbound and southbound on Tamiami Trail were closed for a few hours, but have since reopened.
