FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Fort Myers Police Department is touting the success of last weekend's gun buy-back event.
Saturday's event at Friendship Baptist Church was a chance for the community to sell unwanted guns with no questions asked. People selling back working guns got a $50 gift card, while a $10 gift card was given for every broken gun.
The department says more than 120 guns were turned over; a number it considers encouraging as it works to crack down on crime.
