CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one person injured. It happened in the 3300 block of SE 15th Avenue in Southeast Cape Coral.
Police were on the scene just before midnight Sunday night.
Cape PD tells Fox 4 that arriving deputies found a person with "shrapnel-type" minor injuries. 33-year-old Justin White was transported to the hospital for treatment to his wounds.
A companion of the victim told police that approximately 5-6 white males approached them and about 8-10 shots were fired in their direction before group fled on foot. He could not identify the suspects. Two other witnesses provided similar stories, but declined providing official statements.
White also refused to provide a statement to police and is not pressing charges.
