One injured in Fort Myers shooting Monday

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured Monday morning.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, officers responded to a call of gunshots fired around 10am in the 2500 block of Parkway Street.

Officers arrived to find a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  He was not responsive and was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital.  At this time he has not been identified.

Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit are on scene actively investigating and conducting a canvas of the area.

Investigators are looking for a gray or silver Ford SUV, possibly an Excursion or Explorer that was observed leaving the area at the time of the shooting. It is not known if this vehicle was related to the shooting or was it simply in the area when the offense occurred.

The investigation is ongoing.
