LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. -- A 46-year-old man is dead and three others were injured in a head-on Lehigh Acres crash Sunday night.
It happened on State Road 82 near Kalamar Drive.
Florida Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Danielle Hoos of Fort Myers was traveling eastbound on S.R. 82 and drifted into the westbound lane. A westbound car driven by the victim swerved to try to avoid a collision, but was unsuccessful.
The cars collided head-on, and the victim's car overturned. The driver, who has not been identified yet, died from his injuries. A 13-year-old passenger in the car was seriously injured, and a 32-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries.
Hoos suffered serious injuries as well.
The road was blocked for several hours, but has since opened up.
Charges are pending in the crash.
