LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A man has been found guilty of beating his elderly father to death in Cape Coral back in 2012.
59-year-old Leroy Taylor, Jr. was found guilty Friday after a 6-day trial.
According to the State Attorney's Office, Taylor killed his father, 91-year-old Leroy Taylor, Sr., in his Cape Coral home in July 2012.
Taylor had been visiting his father, an Air Force veteran, while visiting from New York. Police say he killed his dad using blunt force trauma to the head and body, then flew back to his New York home on July 18th.
Taylor was later apprehended at his father's Cape Coral home on August 1st, 2012.
He is scheduled for sentencing on March 13th. He faces a maximum life in prison.
