FORT MYERS, Fla. -- After a six-month search, the City of Fort Myers finally has a new police chief.
The city manager says he's chosen Derrick Diggs, the former police chief of Toledo, Ohio, who's career spans 37-years.
The city manager says Diggs stood out among the eight finalists because of his experience and vision for the department.

Diggs is expected to be introduced during Thursday's city council meeting. The city had been searching for a new chief since last year, when former chief Doug Baker was fired.
