UPDATE -- The southbound lanes of I75 are back open from Exit 182 Sumter Blvd to Exit 179 mile Toledo Blade

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. -- The Northbound lanes of I-75 are now open after a fuel tanker semi truck crashed leaving one man dead.

The southbound lanes of I-75 remain closed from Exit 182 Sumter Blvd to Exit 179 mile Toledo Blade.

The crash involved a single fuel tanker transporting 8,500 gallons of fuel having lost approximately 2,500 gallons upon overturning.

Police say the driver began drifting between the left and right lanes of travel and lost control of the vehicle.

As a result, the driver overturned on his right side.

Sixty-eight-year-old George Ervin of Valrico, Florida died on the scene

Emergency crews responded to the scene and  transferred the remaining tanker fuel to a second tanker truck.

This is a developing story.
