President Donald Trump signed Senate Bill 24 on Wednesday, which promises to repay federal employees who have not received a paycheck during the partial government shutdown.

The paychecks will not come until after Congress and the President come to an agreement over appropriations.

The bill covers nearly 800,000 employees who have been affected by the shutdown.

The bill reads, the federal government "requires the compensation of government employees for wages lost, work performed, or leave used during a lapse in appropriations that begins on or after December 22, 2018, and entitles excepted employees to use leave during a lapse in appropriations."

Many government employees continue working without a paycheck during the shutdown.
