Naples Restaurant Week is in it's final days. The week-long event has 26 different restaurants participating. Each restaurant serves a three-course meal for just $35, and a portion of the money made goes to the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County.
Four in Your Corner got an inside look at two participating restaurants.
AZN Azian Cuisine in Mercato is one of the restaurants participating. It's an asian-fusion restaurant, serving a salad as the first course. It's second course was their Myazaki roll.
"Tempura fried lobster roll, stuffed with snowcrab mix, spicy tuna firecracker mix, and topped with a housemade peanut sauce," Manager Barry Wolff said.
The third course: a salted caramel cake with white chocolate mousse, served with salted caramel ice cream.
Across the street at Masa, Executive Chef Roel Mestra serves up contemporary Mexican food.
"Mexican in the way my grandmother told me, and taught me," Chef Mestra said.
The first course was Costalitos de Pollo, stuffed with ground chicken thighs and spices. The second course, Chef Mestra's favorite, is called the Puerco Veracruzano: marinated pork shoulder paired with charred pineapples and black bean puree. The third course was their Mayan Chocolate Torte: flourless chocolate torte, with a smoked almond brittle and salted caramel ice cream on the side.
With the timing of Naples Restaurant Week -- during hte lull of the first half of December before season takes off -- combined with the charity aspect, Wolff said participating is a no-brainer.
"To get you out to be able to try some food you maybe never thought of before," Wolff said.
Sunday is the last day of Naples Restaurant Week. To participate, go to one of the participating restaurants and ask for their "Restaurant Week Menu."
