COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- A motorcyclist is dead after his and two other motorcycles crashed into a car that pulled into their path Tuesday.
It happened on 55th Street SW in Golden Gate just after 4pm.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Richard Chavez of Naples was on one of three Harley Davidson motorcycles headed south on 55th Street towards Coronado Parkway when a compact car that was headed north made a left turn into their path.
All three motorcycles crashed into the car. Chavez, who was not wearing a helmet during the crash, was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The other motorcylists were not injured, nor were any of the car's three occupants.
The driver of the car, 71-year-old Juana Camargo from Bolivia, was charged with Failure to Yield Right of Way.
