An hours-long investigation inside a Lehigh Acres home is believed to related to a deadly shooting, according to the victim's family.
Crime scene units, along with detectives with the Lee County Sheriff Office, blocked off a section of Douglas Lane and Gulfview Boulevard for hours Monday evening.
"I'm lost for words right now," said a woman who identified herself as the victim's cousin.
She told Fox 4 she didn't want her identity revealed, but says she received a call shortly after 3 p.m. from a family member who said the male victim was shot in the head inside his home. "I received a phone call that there was a boy who was murdered in the house, his wife came home and found him and I found out later on that, that was my cousin," said the woman.
LCSO hasn't revealed any details about the investigation. Neighbors say the home was blocked off shortly after 3 p.m.
"When the yellow tape was seen I knew it was something serious," said David Wickham.
The victim's identity hasn't been released.
For neighbors, their once calm street may never be the same. "It's kind of a nerve wracking thing. Now you got to wonder who lives around you and what happen for your kids safety, "said David Wickham.
