Missing Cape man now a homicide investigation

CAPE CORAL, Fla.-  Police have upgraded the death of a missing Cape Coral man to an active homicide investigation. 

Multiple sources close to the investigation have confirmed the body of James Marshall was found dismembered. 

Detectives do not believe this was a random incident, and do have a person of interest in this case.

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police are now considering the search for a missing Cape Coral man a death investigation.

According to Cape Coral Police, officers conducted a welfare check at the residence of  58-year-old James Marshall on Thursday after a business associate was unable to contact him.

Officers responded to Marshall's condo at Island Cove Condominiums, but were unable to make contact.

Tuesday, detectives announced that the case is now considered a death investigation.

Marshall was last heard from on Tuesday, February 16th and failed to show up for a conference in California. He is described as 6’00”, 180 lb., brown hair, blue eyes, and has a tattoo on left shoulder blade of lion with snake.
