Masseuse charged in Naples prostitution sting

Posted

A masseuse was arrested at a Naples massage parlor Thursday, after police say she offered to perform a sex act for money. Shunmei Qi, 40, of Oakland Park, Florida, was charged with soliciting to commit prostitution.

According to the arrest report, an undercover detective with the Naples Police Department went to Oriental Spa at 2828 9th Street North Thursday afternoon and asked for a back massage. Shunmei Qi told him she charged $50 for that service, then led him to a private room.

The report says that during the massage, Qi offered to remove her clothes for him and cover herself with lotion for $175. When he said he didn't have the money for that, the report states that Qi used hand gestures and made statements to indicate she would give him manual stimulation for $70. After he paid that, plus a $20 tip, he signaled officers on standby to come in and make the arrest.

"Discovering and immediately making the arrest...are what's going to keep Naples the way Naples is," said resident who didn't want to be identified, but lives down the street from Oriental Spa.

Fox 4 asked a representative of Oriental Spa for comment, who told us that he didn't know anything about an arrest at the business, and that Shunmei Qi never worked there. She is currently out on bond.
