CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- The winner of a grand prize package consisting of a house, a new car, and a trip around the world from a popular Southwest Florida car dealer also won a home from the same dealership last year.
Fuccillo Kia of Cape Coral is known for doing larger-than-life promotions. Tuesday, they gave the winner of a mini-golf tournament a Cape Coral house, a new 2016 Kia Forte, and a 40-night trip for two around the world.
Individuals who purchased or leased a new Kia at Fuccillo Kia in April were eligible for the contest. More than 100 customers played one, 9-hole miniature golf round on the course at Mike Greenwell's Family Fun Park. Those with 50 lowest scores at the end of the round qualified to advance to a final 18-hole miniature golf round for a chance to win the grand prize.
Jeff Divett, won a house from the dealership in a similar promotion last year, was named the grand prize winner this year. He elected to collect a cash buyout in exchange for the grand prize package.
"Hopefully lightning will strike twice," he told Fox 4 as he was registering.
Kia employees kept score for all competitors to keep the competition honest.
