NAPLES, Fla. -- Troopers say a Naples teenager crashed into a disable vehicle Monday, killing a man who was pushing it.
The crash happened at 9:22pm on Tamiami Trail near the intersection with Treviso Boulevard in Naples.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Christian Gomez of Naples was pushing a disabled SUV in the left eastbound lane while 19-year-old Gabriel Merced was pushing and steering the SUV from the side. That's when a car driven by a 17-year-old Naples woman crashed into the rear of the SUV, killing Gomez.
Merced and the car's driver also suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
Charges are pending further investigation.
