A man is now behind bars for being linked to several vehicle burglaries, Friday.
Charlotte County Sheriff's Office responded to MacLellan Avenue in Port Charlotte for a vehicle burglary that had occurred. Upon arrival, a K-9 and his handler tracked the suspect, Kareem James, who was later apprehended.
The Criminal Investigations Unit and Forensics Unit discovered that James was also linked to several other vehicle burglaries in the area.
James was charged with multiple counts of vehicle burglary and transported to the Charlotte County Jail for processing.
Sheriff Bill Prummell and CCSO continue to encourage all citizens to lock their unattended vehicle and hide or remove all valuables, particularly during the overnight hours and during the holiday shopping season.
