A Navstar Aviation ground worker was reportedly injured from a lightning strike and transported to the Lee Memorial Hospital Saturday.

It happened shortly after 12 p.m. at the Southwest Florida International Airport, Lee County Port Authority spokeswoman Vicki Moreland said.

A lightning bolt reportedly struck a Sun Country plane and the volts subsequently injured the worker.

When officials arrived they say the worker was still alert and conscious, Moreland said.

No additional information is available at this time.
