LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The coast guard is searching the waters near Barefoot Beach in Bonita Springs after a red flare distress signal was seen.
The distress call was reported just before 5 a.m. Wednesday.
The coast guard was being assisted by several other marine units from Bonita Springs, Estero, Lee County, and Florida Fish and Wildlife in the search this morning.
