CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police now say that one of the two victims of a shooting incident in Cape Coral on Thursday has died from their injuries.

The shooting happened just before 11 a.m. at the Barclay Bay apartment complex just off Cape Coral Parkway.

According to Cape Coral Police, 20-year-old Bridget Quinn of New Jersey was one of the victims of the shooting.  She later died at the hospital.

The identity of the other victim has not been released.

"We do want to re-emphasize the point that there is no danger to the public at large as a result of this incident or any events surrounding it," says Lt. Dana Coston, Cape Coral Police Department Public Affairs Officer. "Once we are able to complete some more of the technical aspects of the investigation, we will be able to release more details publicly."

Investigators were at the scene for several hours Thursday gathering evidence.
