Three teens arrested for Cape burglary

Posted

Three teens are in custody after Cape Coral police say they caught them burglarizing a Southwest Cape home Thursday night.

Officers responded to a burglary in progress at a recently completed home located at 2220 SW 19th Place. They saw two people run out from behind the home, and another took off on a bicycle.  Officers quickly caught the juvenile on the bike and one of the teens who fled behind the home.

After a K9 and helicopter search, Noah Powers, 18, was found hiding in a canal a short distance away.

All three suspects were charged with burglary of a residence.  The two juveniles were also charged with resisting without violence.  They were taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

Powers was taken to the Lee County Jail.
