CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- Two teenagers are facing charges for stealing a car, and driving it halfway across the country.
Florida Highway Patrol says it happened around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday near Tuckers Grade and U.S. 41.
They found the two teens, ages 14 and 17, pacing around the car after it got partially submerged.
As the trooper approached, FHP says the two ran off, but they were caught soon after and charged with Grand Theft Auto and Loitering.
Troopers say the car was reported stolen Tuesday in Illinois.
