BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. -- Three teens were arrested today after robbing a man Monday afternoon, then posting on social media just after the robbery.
Around 3:00 p.m. the victim met with one of the teens to buy a $200 Louis Vuitton belt. When the teens arrived, the victim got in the backseat of the car. Another teen then stuck a gun in the victim's ribcage, while the other prevented the man from leaving the car. We are not naming either of these teens because of their ages--they are both 17-years-old.
At this point, 18-year-old Ernesto Oritz took necklaces and a bracelet off the victim, then stole several hundred dollars from his pockets. They then told the victim to exit the vehicle, and the three teens drove off.
Just after the robbery, the men posted on Snapchat, bragging about the crime they'd committed and showing off the jewelry and cash they'd taken, as well as the gun they used.
Because they had prior criminal records, Lee County detectives quickly identified the three teens. They were all taken into custody and charged with robbery with a firearm. The two 17-year-olds are being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice. Ortiz is being held on $100,000 bond.
