PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying and tracking down an unidentified suspect who held up a Punta Gorda convenience store early Wednesday morning.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, just after midnight, a white male entered the Circle K located on Tamiami Trail at Aqui Esta Drive, implying that he was armed with a gun and demanding that the clerk hand over all the money in the register.

After obtaining the cash, the suspect ordered the clerk to the men’s restroom and told him to remain there for at least five minutes.

The suspect is approximately 6’0” tall, and between 170 and 180 pounds.  He was wearing a grey sweatshirt during the robbery with a large white towel or shirt collar around his neck, possibly to hide a tattoo on the right side of his neck, which can be partially seen in surveillance video.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.
