A Golden Gate man lost his beloved pet goat, the incident caught on the surveillance camera in his backyard.

It happened Monday night, in the video the Panther can be seen lurking behind a shed before chasing the goat off camera.

"I won't even rescue them anymore.  The Panthers have killed every goat that we have ever rescued or even bought," said Colleen Engel.

She owns a horse rescue farm off Rock Road in Collier County, and has seen plenty of panthers.

"We watched a Panther, at 12:00 noon, broad daylight, walk right down the middle of this road,  My husband honked the horn on his truck and it just looked back on us like so what?"

That's why colleen keeps a tight leash on her rescue horses, and even a tighter grip on her gun.

"I used to walk this acreage without a flashlight at night and not think twice of it.  Now I walk around with a flashlight and a gun in my hand, because I'm afraid I might be a cat snack next."

Unsecured trash, pet food that is outside, even a vegetable garden can lead panthers to your door step.

If you see one, you're asked to call FWC.
