FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Three men have been arrested in connection with a late-night shooting and police chase Wednesday that injured two people.

18-year-old Javon Blanks faces several charges, including firing a gun in public, fleeing police, and hit-and-run.

Two other suspects, 18-year-old Ladarius Boston and 19-year-old Montrel Johnson, are charged with resisting arrest.

According to Fort Myers Police, around 9:20 p.m., an officer reportedly saw Blanks shooting into a home in the 3000 block of Thomas Street. Blanks then jumped into the driver seat of a car containing the other suspects and drove off.

Police began to chase the car, which crashed into an empty lot along Edison Avenue, just a few blocks from the shooting scene.

Blanks fled on foot while carrying a handgun, but was quickly apprehended by an officer.  The other two men were taken into custody near the car.

Two people inside the home were hurt in the shooting. One man was injured in the foot, and one woman was injured and the hand before driving to Babe’s nightclub on Tamiami Trail, where officers found her.  She refused treatment at the scene.

The incident is still under active investigation.
