Police search for suspect accused of stabbing man to death

A man who recently moved from Alabama to Fort Myers is accused of stabbing another man to death, the Fort Myers Police Department said.

The incident took place Friday night outside of 1950 Grove Avenue in Fort Myers.

37-year-old Jeremy Lee Rose engaged in an argument with Javier Medina that escalated into a fight where Rose stabbed the victim multiple times, FMPD said.

Medina was rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital where he later died. Countless family members and friends gathered at the home, Saturday, to pray. "It hurts me because he as a great person," said a neighbor. "I don't know why this happened."

Rose later fled the scene and is wanted for murder charges.
