FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police have determined that a bomb threat that was called in to a Fort Myers restaurant over the weekend was placed by a 12-year-old boy.
According to Fort Myers Police, the Hooters restaurant located near Edison Mall received a call Saturday morning in which the caller claimed to be a member of several criminal organizations and made several demands.
Police responded to the scene and the building was cleared while a search was conducted.
Nothing suspicious was found inside, and with further investigation they were able to confirm the caller's identity and location.
Police have been in contact with the boy and his family, an the investigation remains active.
