LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- Halloween may be fun for kids and grown ups, but it can be scary for pets.
Jennifer Galloway from the Gulf Coast Humane Society shares some safety tips you need to know ahead of your Halloween festivities.
She says you should only put pet costumes on your pets, and don't leave them unsupervised in costume.
Be careful with candy, especially chocolate. Watch out for decorations like lit candles, wires and silly string.
Keep your pets in a safe place like a closed room with their favorite bed and toys. Keep them at home and don't have them greet trick-or-treaters at the door.
Lastly, make sure your pet wears a collar and ID tag with up-to-date information.
