FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Lee County man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for his involvement in the murder of a Buckingham man last year.

24-year-old Hunter Tyson was accused, along with Jonathan Ruffini and Lavaya May, of murdering 58-year-old Ted Lee in July 2016 and dumping his body in Manatee County before fleeing the state.

All three were later apprehended in Kansas and extradited back to Lee County.

Thursday, Tyson pled  no contest in a plea agreement to charges of Second Degree Murder, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Conspiracy to Commit Murder for his role in the killing of Lee.

Cases against Ruffini and Lavaya are still pending.
