FORT MYERS, Fla. -- One driver is lucky to come away with just minor injuries after a chain reaction crash that left their SUV demolished.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near the Alico Road exit (#128).

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a box truck attempted to pull onto I-75 from the shoulder but entered the path of a Hyundai SUV.  The SUV hit the rear of the truck and was subsequently struck by two other vehicles.

There were no injuries reported to the other drivers.

The truck's driver, 32-year-old Dustin Patterson, was cited for careless driving.
