A North Port High school student is facing 52 charges of sexual assault on a minor.
Chance Archer, 19, is accused of sexually assaulting the victim for nearly two years. According to a probable cause affidavit from North Port Police, the accuser says her sister saw Archer touching her leg underneath her skirt last February.
Police documents say the sister immediately told the suspect's parents, Amanda and Michael Archer, what she witnessed.
The document also states that a letter was written to the parents detailing the abuse. It is not clear who wrote the letter; their name is redacted in the report.
According to police, when the mother was questioned about the allegations she reportedly told detectives Archer and the young girl would "do things" in the woods behind their home.
Both parents have been charged with child neglect. They have since bonded out of jail.
