More than 20 pounds of marijuana seized during Estero drug bust

ESTERO, Fla. - The Lee County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit & Field Support Unit arresting two men accused of selling large amounts of marijuana in the Estero area.

An investigation into a group of individuals resulted in the arrests of Abraha Teddy Tesfazghi-Simmons and Mark Salem, who detectives identified as the top level suppliers within the group.

During the investigation, Detectives established probable cause to search the residences of both Tesfazghi-Simmons and Salem. A search of the residences resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • 10,272 grams (more than 20 lbs.) of Marijuana (estimated street value of $69,000)
  • 80 THC resin cartridges
  • $106,253.00 U.S. Currency - seized for forfeiture

Both Tesfazghi-Simmons and Salem were arrested and charged as indicated below:

Abraha Tesfazghi-Simmons is charged with Sale of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana.

Mark Salem is charged with two counts of Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Sell.

 "Drug trafficking will not be tolerated in Lee County and we will remain vigilant on the fight to keep the citizens safe and ensure their quality of life," says Undersheriff Carmine Marceno.
